Watch: Mom of Rams RB Kyren Williams wrestles ball away from Giants fan

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams had a career day in Sunday’s 26-25 win over the New York Giants.

After scoring his third touchdown — a new career best — which put the Rams up 26-19 with 12:03 left in the fourth quarter, Williams jumped into the stands and handed the touchdown ball to his mother Taryn.

The only problem was an unyielding Giants fan wanted the ball for himself, grabbing hold of it and trying to wriggle it away as Williams yelled and gestured to the fan the ball was intended for his mother.

After a few moments of jostling back and forth, Williams’ presumably fed-up mom leans back and rips it away from the fan as former New York Jets quarterback-turned-Fox Sports broadcaster Mark Sanchez narrated the exchange, even using the telestrator to highlight the action.

Williams had given a touchdown ball to his mom the previous week during a 30-22 win over the New Orleans Saints with no issue.

The 23-year-old running back finished the game with 20 carries for 87 yards, two receptions for 14 yards and three touchdowns. Despite missing five games in the middle of the season with an ankle injury, Williams is the NFL’s second-leading rusher with 1,144 yards.

Among RBs with 150 or more rushing attempts, Williams ranks third in yards per carry (five) and yards after contact (761), he’s tied for fourth in touchdowns (12) and tied for sixth in missed tackles forced (51), per Pro Football Focus.
