Watch: Packers' Aaron Rodgers doesn't fear death because he's 'seen the other side'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't fear death and isn't afraid to explain why that's the case.

"I definitely had the fear of death," Rodgers answered when asked about the topic during Tuesday's edition of "The Pat McAfee Show," per Brandon Contes of The Comeback. "Ayahuasca and psilocybin actually really helped me with that and alleviated a lot of the stress around the idea of needing to accomplish things before I actually die and has kinda taken away some of that fear. I think when you’ve seen the other side, it makes the idea of death more of a passage and less of an ending."

The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player was referring to how he previously admitted to using a plant-based psychedelic tea during offseasons. The NFL later said such items aren't on its banned substance list.

Understandably, McAfee needed more information about what Rodgers meant by seeing "the other side." Rodgers responded that he was more so "talking about the veil between the seen world and the unseen world" than about what separates life and death.

It's unclear if Rodgers allegedly discussing conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and about the United States landing on the moon with former backup quarterback DeShone Kizer years ago is at all related to the use of ayahuasca. As it pertains to on-the-field matters, the Packers seem unsure if the future Hall of Famer who turned 39 years old earlier this month will return to play with the organization next season.

ESPN stats show Rodgers heads into Week 15 13th among qualified players with a 92.4 passer rating, 26th with a 41.4 total QBR and tied for fifth with 22 passing touchdowns on the campaign. Only six players have thrown more interceptions than Rodgers (9) has this season.

A free-of-fear Rodgers and the 5-8 Packers are coming off their bye week and will next host the 4-9 Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.
