Watch: Packers RB Tyler Goodson hits the spin button on beautiful touchdown run
The Green Bay Packers have one heck of a one-two punch at running back in the form of Aaron Jones and A.J Dillon. There's a chance Jones and Dillon could form the best running-back tandem in the league, but the depth chart behind them is still an open competition — and that's why the preseason is so important.
The Packers are searching for a No. 3 running back, and Tyler Goodson is making a strong case.
Goodson, an undrafted rookie out of Iowa, has run strong all preseason long. He's a stout 5-foot-9, 197-pounds, and runs with a nice blend of speed and power.
He also apparently has one heck of a spin move in his bag, as he demonstrated in Green Bay's final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Goodson is battling with second-year running back Patrick Taylor and former Notre Dame running back Dexter Williams — who the Pack drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 draft — for the third spot. Presumably, 2021 seventh-round pick Kylin Hill will make his presence in the running-back room known as some point this season as well, but he's currently on the PUP list with a knee injury.
In three seasons at Iowa, Goodson rushed for 2,551 yards and 18 touchdowns.
