Watch: Patriots HC Bill Belichick shows disdain for officials with aggressive challenge flag throw
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will never be confused for a cheerful man and the often poker-faced sideline leader made his disgust with officials known during the Patriots' battle with the Miami Dolphins on "Sunday Night Football."
After what Belichick viewed as a poor spot by officials on third down late in the third quarter, he showed rare emotion, spiking his red challenge flag to the turf near the face of a crouching official while they adjusted the down-and-distance chain.
On the previous play, Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson appeared to come close to the first-down marker on third-and-2 from the Miami 25-yard-line, prompting the challenge from Belichick.
Despite his displeasure with the spot, Belichick's challenge backfired, as officials upheld the call on the field. Regardless of the outcome of the review, he supplied the world with a meme for the ages and for that, he should receive neverending thanks.
