Watch: Patriots special teams ace comes out of nowhere to block Dolphins FG
During the New England Patriots Week 2 battle with the Miami Dolphins on "Sunday Night Football," second-year defensive back Brenden Schooler made one of the most exciting special teams plays of the early season, coming up with an insane field goal block in the clutch.
With 3:36 left in the third quarter and the Patriots trailing 17-3, Schooler seemingly appeared out of nowhere, flying past the right side of the Dolphins O-line before leaping in the air to reject the attempt from kicker Jason Sanders.
Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Texas in 2022, Schooler immediately found his role with the Patriots. He played 77 percent of the team's special teams snaps last season, finishing with 14 tackles and two fumble recoveries, helping him earn NFL All-Rookie Team honors.
Two weeks into the 2023 season, Schooler looks to have picked up where he left off last year, impacting the game whenever he gets the chance.
