Watch: Saints second-year WR Rashid Shaheed returns punt for 76-yard TD
Rashid Shaheed channeled his inner Devin Hester against the Packers.
During the second quarter, the 25-year-old wide receiver returned a punt for a 76-yard TD, giving New Orleans a 14-0 lead.
The Saints are adept at finding players with exceptional skills and turning them into offensive weapons (i.e., Taysom Hill). It's likely Shaheed could develop into one due to his elite speed (4.3-second, 40-yard dash) and cat-like reflexes.
"When a cat is trying to run away from something, you don't even see 'em," Saints tight end Juwan Johnson recently said of the second-year wideout, via Luke Johnson of nola.com. "That's something that Shid has. He can go from 0-100 in like .2 seconds."
Along with proving himself as a return specialist, the former Weber State Wildcat is developing into a solid pass-catcher. He has nine receptions for 152 yards in two games, the team's second-highest figure.
So don't be surprised if Shaheed becomes a difference-maker for New Orleans thanks to his game-changing ability.
