Watch: Saquon Barkley confirms Giants call Daniel Jones 'Vanilla Vick'

It seems running back Saquon Barkley and other members of the New York Giants have noticed what fans sometimes call quarterback Daniel Jones.

In a video clip presumably taken from New York's 24-16 home victory over the Houston Texans this past Sunday, Barkley confirmed for the world to hear that he and his teammates use the "Vanilla Vick" nickname for Jones:

This, of course, is a reference to former dual-threat superstar Michael Vick. Per the Statmuse website, Vick still holds the record for the most career rushing yards ever accumulated by an NFL quarterback with 6,109.

For a piece published last week, Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports noted that Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens has 4,308 career rushing yards in fewer than five total seasons and, thus, is on track to smash Vick's mark.

Meanwhile, "Vanilla Vick" seems to trend on Twitter whenever Jones rushes for a touchdown or completes a long scamper during a game:

According to Statmuse and ESPN stats, Jones begins Week 11 fourth among signal-callers with 387 rushing yards for the ongoing season. He's also contributed three rushing touchdowns to go along with 1,596 passing yards and eight scores through the air.

Both Jones and Barkley are currently set to hit free agency after the campaign, but the fact that first-year head coach Brian Daboll has the Giants at 7-2 suggests the organization will want to keep the band together and hold onto both players for at least another season.

For now, New York's two most important offensive play-makers will look to create highlight-reel moments during this Sunday's home game versus the 3-6 Detroit Lions.

One wonders if the television commentators will throw in a "Vanilla Vick" reference during that matchup.
