Watch: Seahawks' 71-year-old HC Pete Carroll shows off incredible QB skills

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is 71 years old but just as spry as ever.

On Thursday, Carroll stepped into the quarterback role at Seahawks training camp, scrambling around the practice field and throwing darts to receivers.

The Seahawks were nice enough to compile shots of Carroll's throws, including a no-look side arm toss that would make Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes blush. Carroll displayed deceptive quickness escaping the pocket, even with zero rush, but no one will hold that against the ball coach.

Before Carroll casually threw some dimes in practice, he completed his now trademark sideline sprints up and down the field.

Carroll's enthusiasm and vitality are nothing new, but his commitment to pushing himself and the team doesn't go unnoticed.

Earlier this week, quarterback Geno Smith called Carroll an "ageless wonder," adding that his energy motivates the team.

"You see your head coach out there running sprints, it doesn't matter how old he is, he's out there," Smith said via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. "He's getting it. It's hot out here, and he's working as hard as we're working."

Entering his 18th season, Carroll ranks 17th all-time in wins, tied with former Green Bay Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren (161) and could very well overtake several legends this season, including Paul Brown (166), Mike Shanahan (170) and Bill Parcells (172). And, as the all-time winningest coach (128-81-1) in Seahawks history, Carroll has earned the right to slow down a little. However, that's simply not in his DNA, and we're bound to see Carroll running around on the field like a kid until he decides to call it a career, whenever that might be.
