Watch: Texans TE Brevin Jordan turns on jets for score in wild first half

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan was the fastest player during the first half of the Browns-Texans track meet.

The third-year tight end scored a 76-yard touchdown in a back-and-forth first half. Jordan began the play as a blocker before leaking out into the flat.

Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was 11-of-16 for 236 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, found him for a short gain and Jordan did the rest.

As he broke free along the sideline, he looked more like Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill than your average tight end.

Per NFL Next Gen Stats (NGS), Jordan reached a max speed of 20.03 miles per hour, the third-fasted speed by a tight end this season. He also gained 59 yards after the catch over expected, which NGS noted was the most by a tight end in 2023.

Jordan entered Super Wild Card Weekend with only 51 career receptions, including 17 this season; his longest catch went for 27 yards.

He was an unlikely source for the Texans' big play, even more so considering it came against a Browns team that ranked first in total defense during the regular season.

In part due to Jordan's improbable touchdown, Houston holds a 24-14 halftime lead.
