Watch: Tony Romo calls out Patriots quarterback Mac Jones for 'horrendous' throw

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has been the focal point of intense criticism this season as he and the rest of the offense have struggled to look at all NFL-worthy.

That trend continued in the first half of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Not only did the Patriots extend their touchdown drought to 12 consecutive quarters, but Jones also threw one of the worst interceptions of the season. He was appropriately called out by CBS announcer Tony Romo.

Everything about this play is terrible for Jones.

Not only is he throwing back across his body, always a dangerous move for a quarterback, but he also had tight end Hunter Henry wide open.

He simply missed him by a mile and threw it right into the numbers of a Raiders defensive back to end any potential Patriots scoring threat.

Jones reportedly entered Sunday's game on a short leash and was being backed up by rookie Malik Cunningham.

After a promising rookie season that resulted in the Patriots making the playoffs, Jones has consistently regressed and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL this season. You can't blame it all on him as the Patriots offense is short on playmakers, but passes like that are going to end poorly no matter who else is on the field around him.
