When the Detroit Lions spent the No. 12 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs, fans expected him to be a heavily featured part of the team's offensive game plan from Day 1.

Gibbs was sparsely used throughout the early going of the regular season, sparking frustration from some fans, and particularly anyone who spent a high pick in their fantasy football drafts on a versatile, explosive player they expected to get tons of touches.

Well, if you gave up on Gibbs and traded him away for some reason, you probably haven't enjoyed the past couple of weeks. If you didn't, or you're a Lions fan, Gibbs' emergence as the dynamic weapon he was drafted to be has been a breath of fresh air.

In front of a national audience (and a home crowd at Ford Field) Monday night, Gibbs put on an absolute show in a dominant win over the Las Vegas Raiders:

It remains to be seen whether or not Gibbs will keep getting the same amount of touches once David Montgomery returns from injury, but it's clear the Lions knew what they were doing when they spent a top-15 pick on a back who might already be one of the most exciting players in the entire NFL.
