What do only Justin Herbert and HOFer Dan Marino have in common?

In Sunday night's 23-17 win over the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert joined Hall of Famer Dan Marino as the only player to throw 90 or more touchdowns over the first three seasons of their career.

With the Chargers holding a slim 3-0 lead with 9:49 left in the first half, Herbert led a five-play, 43-yard scoring drive capped off by a 10-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams to equal Marino's mark.

Facing a second and eight from the Dolphins' 10-yard line, Herbert scrambled to his right, slinging a dart to Williams in the back of the end zone.

That wasn't the only history Herbert made on Sunday. Herbert passed former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck for the most passing yards thrown by a player through their first three seasons in the NFL.

Despite a constant onslaught of pressure from Miami's defense, Herbert stayed cool, finishing 39-of-51 for 367 yards and a touchdown.

Herbert spread the football around on Sunday night, connecting with nine different receivers in the victory.

Keenan Allen was Herbert's favorite target against the Dolphins, hauling in a team-high 12 catches for 92 yards.

The victory improved the Chargers' record to 7-6 with a date with the AFC South-leading Tennessee Titans (7-6) on tap next Sunday.
