What role did Aaron Rodgers play in Buccaneers' disastrous delay of game penalty?

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat Sunday against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Packers nearly blew a double-digit second-half lead but held on for a 14-12 victory thanks to a critical mistake by the Buccaneers late in the fourth quarter.

Tampa Bay had just climbed within a two-point conversion of tying the game with 14 seconds left to go after a one-yard touchdown pass from Brady to wideout Russell Gage. However, on the two-point try, Tampa Bay committed a delay-of-game penalty, derailing their comeback attempt.

After the game, Rodgers commented on the Buccaneers' error, even hinting that he talked up the officials before the game-changing penalty.

"They should've on the previous play too, it was a delay on both plays," Rodgers said. "Sometimes you see things in a game. Sometimes the jumbotron shows things they probably shouldn't show, even at home. I just saw something, I just passed on the information."

Reporters asked head coach Matt LaFleur what Rodgers had seen on the jumbotron, but he was equally as coy.

"We were talking about a few things," LaFleur said. "I'm not going to share that."

Rodgers also played his part on the field Sunday, finishing 27-of-35 for 255 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception.

The victory moved Rodgers and the Packers to 2-1 on the season. They'll look to win their third in a row next week when they return home to take on Brady's former team, the New England Patriots.
