What's going on in Green Bay with the Packers offense?

The Green Bay Packers are having a rough go of things against the New York Jets. It's left fans and pundits to question what is going on in Green Bay as the Packers' offense struggles.

After losing 27-10, it's not hard to see why. It's still shocking to see a team with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback struggle so mightily at home. Per the CBS postgame show, it marked Rodgers' worst lost at home and snapped the team's 15-game winning streak at Lambeau Field.

A particularly ugly sequence occurred on three second-quarter drives. After a phenomenal special teams play that resulted in a blocked punt and the ball at the Jets' 36-yard line, the offense was flagged for holding and Rodgers took a nine-yard sack. They would have to punt. Their next two drives ended with a fumble and a failed fourth-down attempt.

For the game, they averaged an awful four yards per play. The Jets finished with 99 passing yards but still averaged 1.2 yards per play more than the Packers.

Plenty of NFL offenses have looked bad this season. Teams led by Russell Wilson (Denver) and Matt Ryan (Indianapolis) rank among the worst offensive teams in the league. It's the struggles for Rodgers that are the most inexplicable. In those other cases, a small bit of the blame can go to QBs in unfamiliar environments. Rodgers doesn't have that excuse in Green Bay.

If the team suffers through more ugly games like today against the Jets (4-2, 1-0 in AFC East), Rodgers and head coach Matt LaFleur will find themselves under more scrutiny.
