Where does Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones stand on the Tony Pollard/Ezekiel Elliott debate?
Could there be a running back controversy brewing in Dallas?
Starting in place of an injured Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard ran wild on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, finishing with 131 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-29 victory.
Despite Pollard's big day , Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones threw his support behind Elliott when speaking to reporters after the game.
"We're going to go as Zeke goes," Jones said. "He's that integral to our success this year."
Jones said there was "no argument" to start Pollard over Elliott. He pointed to Elliott's hard running style, pass protection skills and big-play ability as reasons to lean on the three-time Pro Bowler once he's ready to return from a knee injury suffered in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.
In last week's 24-6 win over the Lions, Elliott rushed 15 times for 57 yards and two scores. Elliott has rushed for 443 yards and four touchdowns in seven games this season, averaging 4.1 per carry.
Meanwhile, after Sunday's outing, Pollard is averaging 6.2 yards per carry, with 506 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Regardless of who's starting in the backfield for the Cowboys, they keep winning. After Sunday's win over the Bears, the Cowboys have won six of their last seven games, improving to 6-2 heading into their bye week.
