The Washington Commanders need to make some adjustments on the offensive line this offseason.

After losing Brandon Scherff and Ereck Flowers in free agency a year ago, the team replaced them with Andrew Norwell and Trai Turner.

Norwell is expected to stay in his left guard spot, but Turner only signed a one-year deal and could be replaced by another stopgap free agent.

ESPN suggests that the "perfect fit" for the Commanders is Arizona Cardinals guard Will Hernandez.

"The Commanders will need a new right guard to replace Trai Turner and could be a good match for Hernandez, who finally lived up to his second-round pedigree with a breakout year for the Cardinals," ESPN writes. "Hernandez was seventh among guards in PBWR [pass block win rate] last season as well as 19th in RBWR [run block win rate]. SIS [Sports Info Solutions] charting tracked him with just 10 blown blocks in 13 games started."

Hernandez, who turns 28 this offseason, is in his sixth year in the league after his first four seasons with the New York Giants and last year with the Cardinals.

The Commanders could look to add to the position with a more long-term through the draft, but if they want to contend next year, Washington needs to make sound improvements to the offensive line. Taking a veteran is a much safer option than banking on a rookie.
