Why Browns got a great deal for WR Elijah Moore

Browns general manager Andrew Berry continues to give his best Les Snead impression after trading their second-round pick (No. 42) to the Jets for WR Elijah Moore and a third-round pick (No. 74).

Cleveland now doesn't have a first or second-rounder in the 2023 NFL Draft, however, the team still got a great deal for the No. 34 pick in 2021.

The Browns may not be scheduled to make their first selection until the third round but they still have eight total picks throughout the remainder of the draft, now starting at No. 74.

Cleveland was also likely to take a receiver at No. 42 anyway and it only had to move down 32 spots to get an up-and-coming player in Moore.

Moore, who is still only 22, has 80 catches for 984 yards and six touchdowns through his first two seasons. He has also played with a carousel of quarterbacks in New York while the Browns have their clear QB1.

Moore still has two years left on his rookie deal as well which helps Cleveland work against the cap with Watson's large five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract on the books.

The Browns have now attacked every position of need, giving them a lot of flexibility heading into the draft. And who knows, maybe Berry is not quite done yet.
