Will the Chicago Bears activate rookie WR Kevin White?

The Chicago Bears have until next Tuesday to decide whether to active highly touted rookie wide receiver Kevin White or shut him down for the remainder of the season.

White, the seventh overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list all season due to a stress fracture in his shin he suffered in August.

White underwent surgery shortly after the injury and has remained on the PUP list since.

Recently, White only provided vague answers as to his return when asked by media members.

"I am not sure," White said at the Edward Jones Dome this past Sunday. "I don’t know. When I know, that is when you guys will know. It’s day-by-day. I guess we’ll see."

When asked if he was making progress, however, White did seem to be optimistic.

"I always smile," White replied. "We’ll see what happens. I keep working every day and pray for the best."

Although the general consensus around the NFL is that White will not play this season, the 4-5 Bears do have an outside chance of making the playoffs and could use all the help they can get. Another top target for quarterback Jay Cutler, who is playing good football this season, would certainly help their chances.
