WR DJ Moore: Panthers offense better 'than previous years'

Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule officially introduced former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo as his new offensive coordinator in January. That move alone could only answer so many questions hovering over the team's offense.

As things stand today, underwhelming veteran Sam Darnold is on track to start at quarterback for Carolina over third-round draft choice Matt Corral. However, Rhule admitted earlier this month the Panthers could be in the market for a signal-caller if a "significant" upgrade over Darnold becomes available at the right price. The Panthers have repeatedly been linked with Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns in rumors, but there is no sign any trade between the franchises is imminent.

Carolina's Week 1 QB1 may not on the team's roster on the final day of June, but wide receiver DJ Moore explained during a Wednesday appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show" that McAdoo has already helped improve the club's offense.

"I feel like it’s a better, like, structure for us going into this year than previous years. . . . I could tell you a little something like the offense is way better than previous years," Moore said during his comments, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "So we have a lot of upgraded weapons and calls that will help us out this year."

Moore added that he can already "see a growth" as it pertains to Darnold's development working with McAdoo.

It's unclear if Darnold did anything during organized team activities and minicamp to keep Carolina from shopping for his replacement before training camp sessions start late next month.
