With the first postseason game for Los Angeles fast approaching, many on the Bolts are looking to make a good first impression.

Among these names, Bolts corner Asante Samuel Jr. has turned heads and taken names in these early stages of camp, doing all he can to aid the team's secondary.

"I'm just trying to get better and make plays for this team. I'm feeling good. I feel like our team is getting better each and every day. We're just competing really hard. We're making each other better."

Samuel Jr. was taken in the second round of the 2021 draft out of Florida State by the Bolts, and the young corner hasn't disappointed so far.

In his first two seasons, the son of a former NFL great is making his name for himself after snagging two interceptions in each of his first two campaigns.

More recently, in the Chargers' playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Samuel Jr. grabbed three interceptions in the first half of the Wild Card game that demoralized the Florida home crowd.

Trevor Lawrence eventually composed himself to win the game in improbable comeback fashion. Still, Samuel Jr.'s performance equally can't be ignored on the national stage nor by his head coach Brandon Staley.

"He's playing, from a technique standpoint, a lot better because he's in there a lot more. I think you've seen, throughout these practices, him making plays outside and inside," Staley added. "He has to cover the tough guys in both places. He's also done a good job in run support. He just needs to keep improving."

Samuel Jr. is not only making his father's legacy proud but will look to take the final game of last season as fuel for a breakout season in LA.
