As the 2024-2025 NFL season is coming to a close, the race for the Most Valuable Player award has come down to two standout quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills.

Both players have been essential to their teams' success, with each demonstrating elite performances that have captured the attention of analysts and fans alike.

With the NFL MVP vote looming, the decision will likely come down to Jackson and Allen, who have both solidified their positions as the top contenders for the award.

ESPN polled 13 analysts to put their vote in for the MVP award winner. According to those analysts, Allen has the edge over Jackson as the Bills quarterback logged seven first-place votes with the Ravens quarterback getting six first-place votes -- proving just how close the race is.

Lamar Jackson has been the driving force behind the Ravens' impressive campaign. This season, Jackson set career highs with 4,172 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, maintaining an incredible passer rating of 119.6.

Additionally, Jackson’s rushing ability continues to set him apart, as he racked up 915 rushing yards and added four rushing touchdowns. His ability to break plays open with both his arm and legs has made him one of the most dynamic and dangerous quarterbacks in the league.

Jackson’s dual-threat playmaking ability has been critical to Baltimore's success, and his leadership has played a significant role in their rise to the top of the AFC.

On the other side of the MVP race is Josh Allen, who has been consistently dominant for the Buffalo Bills. Allen has thrown for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns, with only six interceptions and a passer rating of 101.4. His ability to perform under pressure has been crucial in securing Buffalo's fifth consecutive AFC East title.

As a dual-threat quarterback, Allen’s ability to make plays with his legs and arm has made him an invaluable asset for the Bills.

His leadership on and off the field has kept the Bills in contention for a Super Bowl, and his performances throughout the season have firmly entrenched him as a legitimate MVP candidate.

The MVP race has become one of the most exciting in recent memory. Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are both worthy candidates, each having led their respective teams to impressive seasons with remarkable individual performances.

With both quarterbacks displaying exceptional skill, leadership, and playmaking ability, it will come down to which player had the most impact on their team’s overall success.
