Bengals' Joe Burrow has message for Ravens after Trey Hendrickson signing

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has recently made it known on multiple occasions that he's thrilled with how the Bengals bolstered their roster this offseason.

The Bengals also let star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson reach free agency, and he ultimately joined the Baltimore Ravens shortly after the Ravens backed out of trading for Las Vegas Raiders defensive star Maxx Crosby.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Burrow addressed possibly having to avoid Hendrickson during at least two games this coming season.

"Any time we play the Ravens, that one is circled," Burrow explained, per Shelby Dermer of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "That goes back years when [Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson] and I were a lot younger. That's always a battle when we get after it."

Last season, Burrow suffered a serious toe injury in Week 2 that kept him sidelined until the Bengals faced the Ravens on Thanksgiving night in Week 13. Cincinnati notched a 32-14 win that evening, but the Ravens then earned a 24-0 victory over the Bengals in Week 15.

Later this year, the Bengals will play at the Ravens in Week 7 on Oct. 25. Those two teams then won't see each other again until Dec. 31.

Numerous reports made it clear that the Bengals were not going to pay Hendrickson anything close to the money he would receive as a free agent before he joined the Ravens via a four-year, $112M contract that included $60M in fully guaranteed money. On Wednesday, Burrow hinted that Hendrickson likes the fact he'll be going up against his former employer twice this season.

"Not very surprising," Burrow said about Hendrickson signing with one of the Bengals' division rivals. "I know Trey. I love Trey. I just know how he operates."

Burrow was also asked about being chased by Hendrickson during a game later this year.

"That'll definitely be fun," Burrow said.

Hendrickson played in just seven games last season before he needed core surgery. Both he and Burrow will now look to stay healthy at least until they see each other on the field as opponents ahead of Halloween.
