Giles-Harris was on the practice squad during the first seven weeks of the season. He was elevated to the active roster last weekend to play in the Bengals' Week 8 game against the New York Jets.
Cincinnati placed Shaka Heyward on the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, which freed up a roster spot for Giles-Harris. He's now the fifth LB on the depth chart, and his spot on the practice squad has also been filled.
With Giles-Harris now on the 53-man roster and Heyward out for the next month, the Bengals have signed two new backers to the practice squad in Liam Anderson and Brian Asamoah II.
Anderson was originally signed as an undrafted free agent sign by the Indianapolis Colts in 2023. He spent most of his first two years on the Colts' practice squad, but did appear in in four games during those seasons. He was waived by Indianapolis prior to final cuts this year and had not signed with a new team after the season began.
Asamoah was a third-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings during the 2022 NFL Draft. He played in 46 games during his first three seasons in Minnesota, but didn't make the roster this year and ended up on the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad for the first eight weeks of the season. Las Vegas released Asamoah on Tuesday.
To fit both Anderson and Asamoah, Cincinnati released defensive end Myles Cole from the practice squad. Cole originally joined the Bengals' practice squad following Week 1.
The moves bring Cincinnati's active roster to 51 players, and the practice squad to 16. Expect more moves to follow later this week before Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
