The Washington Football Team contingent was holding their collective breath near the end of the first half. All-Pro right guard Brandon Scherff took a scary fall into the wall along the sidelines.
Taylor Heinicke was intercepted by Buffalo Bills cornerback Taron Johnson. As Washington’s offense scrambled to get him down, Scherff’s momentum carried him onto the sidelines on the warning track into the wall.
Only a brief look at the Scherff injury here. He tried to run down the INT return and went out of bounds, hit the wall hard, but can't tell anything more than that pic.twitter.com/2RQqzh2c3T

Scherff laid motionless on the field for a few moments. His teammates looked on with concern.
Scherff ultimately was able to walk off on his own to the locker room. Fortunately, he was able to return to the game, as he just had the wind knocked out of him.

Unfortunately, his return was not enough for Washington, as Buffalo ran away with the game 43-21.
