Browns place RT Jack Conklin, PK Cody Parkey on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Cleveland Browns continue to deal with COVID-19 issues ahead of Sunday's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Two days after the Browns temporarily closed their facility because a player tested positive for the coronavirus, Cleveland announced that starting right tackle Jack Conklin, placekicker Cody Parkey and long-snapper Charley Hughlett are going on the reserve/COVID-19 list as "high-risk close contacts."

Additionally, NFL sacks leader (9.5) Myles Garrett was sent home with an undisclosed illness. Updated health and safety guidelines for the season held amid the coronavirus pandemic mandate that personnel experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19 infections must isolate away from team activities even if they test negative for the virus.

Conklin, Parkey, Hughlet  and Garrett could all be available to face the Eagles as long as they test negative throughout the week and report no symptoms. According to Jake Trotter of ESPN, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that veteran tackle Kendall Lamm will start up front if Conklin isn't cleared by Sunday.

After the Browns confirmed a player tested positive on Monday, they placed fullback Andy Janovich on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Offensive lineman Chris Hubbard went on the list last week, but Cleveland ultimately was able to welcome the Houston Texans to FirstEnergy Stadium.

Cleveland defeated Houston 10-7 to improve to 6-3 on the campaign.
