The biggest surprise was leaving tight-end Tanner Hudson off the roster. Hudson had a great camp and play very well in the preseason. As a result, he was claimed off waivers by the San Francisco 49ers.
Rookie linebacker Grant Stuard, the last pick in this year’s draft, beat out veteran Joe Jones. As a result, earned a spot on the 53 man roster. His play in the preseason finale was the deciding factor to have him on the roster.
Bruce Arians said that special teams would decide the final roster spots, which proved to be true with safety Chris Cooper and cornerback Dee Delaney. Whose versatility proved valuable to the team.
The Bucs will now turn their attention to the Dallas Cowboys whom they open the season against next Thursday night as they look to defend their Super Bowl title.
