Buccaneers' Offensive Triplets Get Top 10 Billing In 2025

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense under Liam Coen last season was swashbuckling, with Baker Mayfield leading one of the best units in football.

Tampa Bay had the stout offensive line, the outside weapons, and the run game, everything a top line offense needs, and Coen masterminded it all. Now, it is Josh Grizzard's show in the NFC South, and the Buccaneers' offense has gotten stronger with the drafting of Emeka Egbuka.

With Mayfield, Irving, and then Mike Evans seen as Tampa's top three offensive weapons, when ranked against the rest of the league's offensive trios, Grizzard's group lands at No. 9 in Jared Dubin's rankings for CBS Sports.

"The Bucs made the second-largest year-to-year leap in the rankings behind only the Commies, jumping from 21st to ninth," Dubin writes. "This is personally a bit rich for me, with the trio above getting double credit for what Liam Coen and the offensive line did to put them in position to succeed last year.

"It's easy to forget that Mayfield led the NFL in picks, for example, and posted a 2.8% interception rate that was nearly identical to the one that got him benched in Carolina. The touchdowns more than made up for it, obviously, but we'll have to see whether that holds under new offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard."

Dubin thinks it's a bit rich to have them so high. We don't, and that's the beauty of these rankings, it creates debate.

Mayfield is coming off the best season of his career (4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns and yes, 16 interceptions), Irving posted 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, and Evans, while missing a month due to injury, still managed to surpass 1,000 receiving yards...just.

As we turn for training camp, there is nothing to suggest that this trio won't be as good, if not better, than last season. Of course, that's a high bar to reach, but one that's obtainable in our eyes.

The Buccaneers having a top 10 offensive trio in 2025? Yeah, that tracks.
