Buccaneers Pro Bowl WR Mike Evans suspended one game for on-field brawl

Tom Brady may be without his top target when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

During the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers' Week 2 clash with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Brady ran toward an official after he threw an incomplete pass, calling for pass interference. "TB12" ran into New Orleans star cornerback Marshon Lattimore, and the two exchanged words, leading Evans to run toward his rival and knock him hard to the ground.

Both Evans and Lattimore were ejected, and Tampa Bay won 20-10, improving to 2-0 on the season.

It was reported on Monday morning that the NFL was looking into former Bucs head coach Bruce Arians — who now works on the sideline in a senior adisory role — for his possible involvement in the episode. The two teams will play again in Week 13's edition of "Monday Night Football" on Dec. 5.

Through two games thus far, Evans leads Tampa Bay in targets (11), receptions (eight) and receiving yards (132).

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler first reported that the four-time Pro Bowler is expected to appeal the suspension.
