Bucs coach Bruce Arians 'not concerned' with Gronk's lack of production

When Rob Gronkowski un-retired and was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in April, many assumed that he would relive the glory days of being the most dominant tight end in the NFL. But two weeks in, his reunion with Tom Brady has been underwhelming, as he has just two catches for 11 yards so far. When asked about Gronk's lack of production, Bucs coach Bruce Arians said he was not surprised.

"Not really," Arians said when asked if he was concerned. "He got a nice pass interference call for us. Missed him on the over route. We're not throwing the ball 50 times to the tight ends. That's what we have receivers for, that's the way our offense is built. Gronk's playing great run blocking in the fourth quarter, so I'm not concerned with his pass catches or his targets."

Arians is probably right not to be too worried about Gronk at this point. After all, he hadn't played football for over a year before Week 1 and likely needs some time to ease back into game mode before he contributes. And even if he is a shell of his old self, the Bucs may not need to worry, as they are loaded with offensive weapons, including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, OJ Howard and Cameron Brate. 

But if Gronk is able to get his season on track, it could mean that an already-dangerous offense (that appears to still be finding its footing) could become downright scary for opposing defenses.
