Cardinals DE Chandler Jones has five sacks in season opener vs. Titans

Chandler Jones is back and better than ever.

The Arizona Cardinals defensive back recorded five sacks, tying the franchise's record single-game record set last season by Haason Reddick, and forced two fumbles in Sunday's 38-13 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Sunday's game was Jones' first since recovering from a torn biceps that limited him to five games in 2020.

The three-time Pro Bowler reportedly requested a trade during the offseason because of his unhappiness with his contract situation and future with the Cardinals.

Jones had been involved in trade rumors throughout the offseason after skipping Arizona's minicamp due to dissatisfaction with his contract. The 31-year-old is owed $15.5 million in 2021 and will hit free agency after the season.

The next sack Jones should get this year is a sack of money. However, it's unknown when an extension will come for the two-time All-Pro. But based on his performance in Sunday's game, it should come very soon.
