The Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles entered Week 14 with identical 8-4 records on "Monday Night Football."
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert suffered a hand injury against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 13 and had surgery due to a broken bone in his left hand.
Going into the game, it remained to be seen if he would play, but the Chargers officially listed him as active hours before the game on Monday.
The first half of the game was sloppy, and the Chargers took a 10-6 lead into halftime. Herbert connected with running back Omaraion Hampton, who returned from IR on Monday, for the first score of the game just minutes into the first quarter.
With the first half winding down, the Chargers were trying to get into field goal range. However, Herbert was hit as he threw, and it resulted in an interception by Eagles cornerback Adoree' Jackson.
Running back Kimani Vidal tackled Jackson but was whistled for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.
Ill-advised, terrible throw leading to an INT by Herbert & a personal foul by Vidal on the same play...

Vidal threw Jackson to the ground, drawing a flag and giving the Eagles more yards, but Jake Elliott missed a 48-yard field goal at the end of the first half.
Still, the NFL handed down 22 fines for unnecessary roughness from Week 13's games, with amounts ranging from as low as $5,722 to the highest of $46,371, which went to Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco.
Vidal played in 10 games for LA in 2024 after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Monday's game marked his 10th of the season for LA, and he has 543 yards with three scores entering the contest.
But, a fine could be coming for Vidal depending on what he league decides in its review process.
