It’s an NFL matchup full of contrasts.

The Kansas City Chiefs reached the mountaintop in Super Bowl LIV while the Tennessee Titans are still looking for their first world championship.

Ironically, the Chiefs ended the Titans’ Super Bowl hopes during the 2019 AFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs draw strength from their passing game led by former league MVP Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce.

Meanwhile, the Titans have a punishing run game courtesy of reigning Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Henry, who is on pace for another 2,000-yard season.

Kansas City’s head coach, Andy Reid, has more than two decades of head coaching experience.

Meanwhile, Tennessee gave Mike Vrabel his first job as head coach in any level of football.

But despite their differences, both teams are coming off victories.

Chiefs Spoil Sean Taylor’s Retirement Ceremony

No, this section is not about the antics of Mahomes’ brother.

However, the ceremony planned by the Washington Football Team wasn’t enough to honor his legacy.

The entire proceedings looked hastily planned, and there were some questionable details like placing Sean Taylor’s number where the VIPs stay.

Worse, team owner Dan Snyder didn’t even wear a suit during the day.

As a result, the football gods punished them with an 18-point defeat at the Chiefs’ hands.

Kansas City had a shaky start to the game as Mahomes threw two interceptions.

But the offensive juggernaut that made them one of the NFL’s best came alive in the second half.

In contrast, Washington failed to score in the last two quarters.

Mahomes achieved his 30th 300-yard game to tie Kurt Warner for most triple-century games for a quarterback in his first five seasons.

The Chiefs gained an average of 6.4 yards per play and converted 11 of 17 third downs.

Titans Edge Bills

It’s time to put Henry as a strong candidate for MVP.

The bruising running back had another forceful stiff arm and dominated Buffalo with three touchdowns.

It’s his third game this season with three touchdowns and he leads the league with ten scores.

The former Alabama standout has 64 career rushing touchdowns, tying Eddie George for second-most in franchise history.

He also tied Hall of Famer Earl Campbell with his 17th game of at least two rushing touchdowns for the Titans.

Henry also gained 143 yards in 20 attempts for a whopping 7.2 yards per carry.

The Titans created more distance between them and their AFC South rivals by surviving the Buffalo Bills, 34-31.

Like Kansas City, Tennessee’s defense is ripe with issues, especially in their secondary.

But their defense sealed the victory via that goal-line stand on fourth down.

One Marquee Matchup

This Week 7 game has the makings of an AFC playoff preview, and they will be throwing their best at each other.

There’s a chance that they meet again in the postseason, and only time can tell if that will happen.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will exploit the inconsistencies of Tennessee’s defensive backs.

Meanwhile, the Titans will activate Henry to help open up the passing game to A.J. Brown and Julio Jones.

This clash promises to be one iconic showdown in Nashville.
