Chiefs Announce Unfortunate Decision Before Broncos Game

Isiah Pacheco and the Kansas City Chiefs will look to get back on track following their bye, hitting the road to face Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in a Week 11 AFC West showdown. The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, dropping them to 5-4 on the 2025 NFL season.

Over the first half of the season, Pacheco has been the lead running back behind Patrick Mahomes. Through eight games played, the former Rutgers star has tallied 78 carries for 329 yards and a touchdown, adding another 43 yards and a score through the air. But Kareem Hunt is right behind Pacheco with 73 carries for 294 yards and five touchdowns.

But in the Week 8 win over the Washington Commanders, Pacheco was forced to leave early after suffering an MCL sprain, causing him to miss the rest of the game. Leading up to the loss against Buffalo, Pacheco was unable to practice, forcing him to miss his first game of the season in the AFC Championship rematch.

Now, coming off their bye, the Chiefs have turned their attention to the division-leading Broncos. But despite the extra time to recover, Pacheco was unable to practice all week, and on Friday, Kansas City officially ruled him out for Week 11, once again giving Hunt a larger role.

While Pacheco remains out, everyone else on the Chiefs' injury report is expected to play, including defensive end George Karlaftis, guard Trey Smith and tackle Josh Simmons. Kansas City will take on Denver at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday on CBS.
