Make no mistake about it, the Kansas City Chiefs' dynasty isn't over just yet.
With many off the Chiefs bandwagon in 2025 due to the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the question marks offensively, Kansas City is going to have to prove it still has the juice to compete at the very top of the NFL.
Granted, that is a little odd for a team that in the last three years has been to the Super Bowl every season, and won it twice, but times appear to be changing across the league.
However, not so much for NFL Network's Judy Battista. She thinks that while the loss to the Eagles was bad, the Chiefs are still the top dogs in the AFC.
"Because it was such a bad loss, people think the dynasty is over," Battista said on NFL Network. "Well, not quite. They've won three Super Bowls, they've lost two. The Chiefs are still the best team in the AFC until proven otherwise, I know the Philadelphia Eagles handled them easily, but until somebody in the AFC topples them, I will not believe the dynasty is over."
Having been to at least the AFC title game every season that Patrick Mahomes has been the starter, Kansas City has been an ever-present in the biggest games of the year.
Yes, the wider NFL community might see the Chiefs as slipping, but in the AFC, no one has shown they can consistently beat Mahomes and Co. Both Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson failed on their own fields in 2023, and Patrick ended Allen's season last year.
So, while many are hopping off the Chiefs in 2025, which we think is a little premature, they still possess the best quarterback and head coach in football, and you could argue one of the best defensive coordinators, too.
And when you have that, you're always going to be in the Super Bowl conversation.
