The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most popular sports franchises in the world, and they have quite a few famous fans as a result.
One of those fans is WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, and she was invited to be on a panel at the league's annual meeting, where she said she would have loved to play football growing up.
"Growing up, I had an older brother who played football. My grandfather was a football coach for 40+ years...I remember thinking 'Why can't I play flag football?'," Clark said.
The panel was focusing on women in sports, and the league's growing interest in flag football. The sport will be debuting in the 2028 Summer Olympics being held in Los Angeles. Clark joked that she would be down to compete on top of already being a professional athlete, but she called other women to take part.
"I think it's just a great opportunity...there's no reason why they can't play," Clark said. "Obviously I grew up with it but there's a lot of people that don't grow up with football. They don't grow up watching the NFL and things like that. The more people that can start that from a young age, I think will be very powerful, and more of them will want to join flag football and that will continue on."
While Clark will most likely not be part of the women's team that goes to compete in flag football at the Olympics, she hopes she can inspire others to do just that.
