Chiefs star Frank Clark arrested for felony gun possession, allegedly had an Uzi

Dating back to his college days with Michigan, Kansas City Chiefs star Frank Clark has found himself in trouble with the law multiple times.

That’s now been taken to a whole new level.

According to TMZ Sports, Clark was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday for felony possession of a firearm. The details are eye-opening.

“Law enforcement sources tell us Clark was pulled over for a routine traffic stop Sunday evening in Los Angeles … when cops say they noticed an open duffle bag in his ride,” the report noted. “Our sources say officers saw the gun inside the bag … and arrested the 28-year-old for felony illegal possession of a firearm.”

According to TMZ Sports, Frank Clark had an Uzi in his possession. It’s a blowback-operated submachine gun that can fire off 600 rounds per minute. Why anyone needs that is beyond comprehension.

As of the release of the TMZ Sports report, Clark was still in custody in Los Angeles and has bail set at $35,000.

Having signed a five-year, $104 million extension with the Chiefs back in April of 2019, Clark is among the best defensive players in the game. The former Seattle Seahawks second-round pick has recorded 101 quarterback hits and 49 sacks in six NFL seasons. He came over to Kansas City in a trade from Seattle ahead of the 2019 campaign.

Despite this, seeing the 28-year-old Clark in the news for all the wrong reasons can’t be seen as too much of a surprise to those who have followed his career dating back to his days with the Wolverines.

While in college, Frank Clark was arrested on domestic violence and assault charges after an incident with a woman. Details of said incident are harrowing.

“Police reports include a witness (the alleged victim’s brother) who states he ‘saw Clark grab the victim by her neck and slam her to the ground.’ Two other witnesses, Lis Babson, 44, and Kristie Colie, 43, were in the room next door at the hotel and say they heard banging sounds, along with yelling and screaming, prompting Colie to pound on the door and find out what was wrong,” Sportsnaut reported back in 2014.

As of publication of this article, the Kansas City Chiefs or the National Football League has not released a statement on the Frank Clark situation. We’ll have further updates as they become available.
