Cowboys set to enter brutal Thanksgiving Day annual gauntlet

Week 11: at Las Vegas Raiders (2-7)

This matchup has “shootout” written all over it.

For Dallas, Dak Prescott enters with a cabinet full of offensive weapons: WR CeeDee Lamb, WR George Pickens, TE Jake Ferguson, and RB Javonte Williams.

That group alone gives the Cowboys more firepower than they’ve had in years.

Across the field, Geno Smith directs an equally explosive Raiders offense featuring RB Ashton Jeanty, TE Brock Bowers, and WR Tyler Lockett; a trio that can stress Dallas at all three levels.

The Raiders have the home crowd, the Vegas lights, and the reputation of being the team most analysts point to when predicting a random Cowboys letdown.

This time, that narrative gets flipped.

In a game loaded with points and momentum swings, the difference comes on defense. Specifically, a newly added All-Pro defensive tackle.

Prediction: Quinnen Williams blows up a potential game-winning drive by Vegas, sealing a wild Cowboys victory.

Week 12: vs Philadelphia Eagles (7-2)

Cowboys fans have been circling this rematch since the moment Week 1 ended.

That narrow loss in Philadelphia felt like one that got away, and now the Eagles, powered by Jalen Hurts, an elite offensive line, the league’s best running back, a deadly WR duo, and a top-tier defense, come to Dallas riding confidence and continuity.

Matchups matter, and so does quarterback play. In that department, the Cowboys hold the edge.

Prescott has historically played some of his best football against Philadelphia at AT&T Stadium, and with Lamb and Pickens forming one of the league’s most dangerous tandems, he’ll be in attack mode from the opening drive.

This one won’t be easy, but Prescott has a habit of carrying this team when the stakes demand it. This is one of those weeks.

Prediction: Dak lights up the Eagles secondary, Dallas splits the season series, and momentum shifts back in their favor.

Week 13 (Thanksgiving): vs Kansas City Chiefs (5-4)

If the Cowboys want to prove they can compete beyond November, this is the litmus test.

By the time the Chiefs arrive, Dallas fans can only hope the reinforcements (Quinnen Williams, Logan Wilson, and DeMarvion Overshown) have elevated the defense to something resembling competence.

If so, the Cowboys have a real shot, because these Chiefs aren’t the same unstoppable machine they were a few years ago.

Andy Reid’s squad sits only one game above .500, and age has dulled much of Travis Kelce’s once-unfair explosiveness.

Betting against Reid and Patrick Mahomes on a national stage rarely ends well.

Mahomes has a knack for rediscovering his MVP form when the lights are brightest, and Thanksgiving in Dallas absolutely qualifies.

Prediction: Mahomes carves up Dallas late, dropping the Cowboys to 5-6-1 heading into the next pivotal stretch that Part 2 of this series will explore.
