Dan Campbell Has No Problem With One Unwritten Rule

The Detroit Lions suffered yet another tough loss this past Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks won by a whopping final of 51-29 in what could have been Russell Wilson‘s last game with the team.

A potential farewell game meant the Seahawks got creative at the end with the game already won.

Seattle ran an end-around that nearly scored a touchdown.

Such a play at the end of the game, as opposed to just kneeling, would have other opposing coaches furious.

Not Campbell.

He once again proved why he is so likable when talking about the trick play.

“The way I look at that is, well, if you don’t like it, you better stop it then,” Campbell said, via NFL.com. “And, hey man, kudos. And to be honest with you, if they would have run it in at the end, I wouldn’t have had a problem with that, either. It’s up to us to stop them.”

Campbell speaks like a former player and it is hard to disagree with his sentiment.

Dan Campbell says he wasn't upset with the Seahawks' play calling at the end of the game, and would've been fine if they tried to punch it in at the end.

Says it's his job to stop it if he doesn't like it.

Moving Past The Unwritten Rule

This is a great response from Campbell.

It always feels silly when players or coaches get mad about a team running up the score.

It is one thing if it comes in a high school game.

But in the NFL?

As Campbell said, players can simply make a stop if they are upset about getting destroyed by the opposing team.

NFL offenses should not have to totally shut it down late just because the opposing defense can’t stop them.

Campbell’s team has struggled to a 2-13-1 record this season.

Went back and listened to Dan Campbell's introductory press conference and he pretty much accomplished everything he said he was going to do year one. This team took the identity of the city and played competitive football all year long.
