DE Randy Gregory headed to Broncos after reported deal with Cowboys falls apart

Less than an hour after the Dallas Cowboys' Twitter account officially announced that defensive end Randy Gregory had returned on a five-year, $70 million deal, the Denver Broncos responded.

According to multiple reports, Gregory's deal with Dallas fell apart and he is now headed to Denver, still on a five-year, $70 million deal. The flip was first reported by Vic Lombardi.

The 29-year-old Gregory has spent his entire career with the Cowboys since being selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, but has been suspended a number of times for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The former Nebraska Cornhusker recorded a career-high 17 quarterback hits and 6.0 sacks in 2021 over 12 games.

Gregory underwent surgery on his left knee in January.
