Drew Brees shares the hilariously long name of his record-breaking play call
Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Drew Brees says that he won’t soon forget the play the New Orleans Saints ran that helped him break the career passing yards record. It’s a good thing he has a good memory, because he needs it for how long the play is.

In his postgame interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters, Brees was asked what the play was that they ran to break the record. Brees gave a grin because he knew he was about to lose so much of the audience with the complex play call.

It sounds like the play was: gun king, trips right, terrapin 52 sway, all go special, X shallow cross, H wide.

You got all that? Here’s what it looked like. You can see the two receivers in the trips right formation ran “go” routes, and that’s where Brees went with his pass.

The play turned out to be a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre’Quan Smith.
