Josh Jacobs has been a mainstay in the Las Vegas Raiders ballfield since 2019. His absence has left a big void to fill for the Raiders backfield. Zamir White is looking to fill that void. White was able to get his feet wet last season as his workload increased. The 3rd year back out of Georgia is slated to be the man for the first time in his professional career.

With White asserting himself as RB1, it would have been nice to see him have a slightly higher workload in the preseason but nothing too crazy of course. White played so little that he was clearly not able to get into a rhythm at all which is tough for a running back. But it seemed like the Raiders were already sold on what White could do. But not so much on his fellow teammates in the backfield. There seems to be a real concern about the depth in the backfield.
Considering what’s behind Zamir White, it’s safe to say that the Raiders are going to heavily rely on his to carry the workload. In order for the Raiders to be able to compete for a AFC West title, they must be able to establish a effective run game that can ware down their opponents. White has that capability to be the type of back that defense will hate dealing with in the fourth quarter. There just needs to be a change of pace back that can relieve him when he needs a breather. This season will either make or break White because he’s going to get every chance to prove that he can be the Raiders franchise running back moving forward.
