JuJu Smith-Schuster doesn't regret Browns comments before season-ending loss

JuJu Smith-Schuster could not stop giving opponents bulletin-board material this season, but despite the Steelers getting thoroughly dominated by their division opponents Sunday night, the wide receiver says he does not regret what he said about the Browns before the game.

Smith-Schuster said that he was not worried about playing against Cleveland, telling reporters that they were "the same Browns that I've played every year" while admitting he was "happy" to be playing them because "the Browns is the Browns."

These dismissive words clearly stuck with Cleveland, as several Browns players repeated Smith-Schuster's words after the win, including quarterback Baker Mayfield yelling "The Browns is the Browns" as he was running into the locker room after the game. Despite the comeuppance, Smith-Schuster did not seem to mind his own words coming back to him.

"I don't regret what I said. I said the Browns is the Browns," Smith-Schuster said. "They came out and played a hell of a game. There's been games where we feel we lose them and today wasn't our night. Hopefully, the same Browns will show up next week against the same opponent and go out and do the same thing they did tonight and have a hell of a game."

Of course, the reason the Steelers lost this game has nothing to do with what Smith-Schuster did or did not say, as his comments did not cause Pittsburgh to turn the ball over five times while allowing Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to run all over them. Still, it may do the young receiver some good to learn that if you talk trash prematurely, you may find your opponents gleefully mocking you after you fail to back it up.
