San Francisco 49ers second-year quarterback Trey Lance completed seven of his 11 passes for 49 yards in a preseason game against the Houston Texans on Thursday night. What did 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan think of the performance? Not a whole lot.
"Dude, I've got nothing," Shanahan told the San Francisco Chronicle. "It was a dumb a-- preseason game."
Lance, 22, has been handed the keys to the 49ers offense after spending the majority his rookie season behind Jimmy Garoppolo on the team's depth chart. He made two starts while Garoppolo was out due to injury last year and finished those games with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
In preseason this year, Lance completed four of five passes against the Green Bay Packers, including a 76-yard touchdown pass to Danny Gray.

Lance sat out the next preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings and finished up August on Thursday night with an underwhelming showing.
