For several years now, the NFL has held the schedule release on one date, with the few days leading up to it having games here and there released. Then, on schedule release day, teams post their videos of their schedule. The Las Vegas Raiders have made some of these videos the last few years.
Last offseason, it was Antonio Pierce standing in front of Allegiant Stadium bringing together the Los Angeles part of the fan base, the Oakland part of the fan base, and the Las Vegas part of the fan base. It was a pretty cool video. But, it will be interesting to see what they do this year with Pete Carroll, the former Seattle Seahawks head coach, now running the show.
We are a few days away from the full schedule being released. And while no leaks have really come out involving the Raiders schedule and some of the games they will play, the franchise itself posted what appears to be a teaser video for one of their games.
The tweet, or post, depending on whether you saw Twitter or Instagram, captioned "Mondays, amirite?" and had a miniature horse, or a pony, walking through what appears to be the office at the headquarters.
Now, does that mean Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, their AFC West rival that they have played 19 total times on Monday Night Football, the most of any other team they have played on that select day and broadcast?
Or is it the Indianapolis Colts, who are a road team this season for the Raiders, who Las Vegas has never played on MNF? The Colts, which is like a horseshoe, could be the answer because the video doesn't provide a full-size horse, or mustang, or Bronco. It's a miniature horse that wears horseshoes.
It's all confusing, but the teaser is there, and it's there to trip fans up and play with their emotions. We will find out in a few days what team it is, but that's at least one primetime game for Las Vegas.
