The New Orleans Saints made an aggressive mode at this year's NFL trade deadline, moving on from veteran cornerback Marshon Lattimore. When healthy over the past two seasons, Lattimore had been incredibly impressive for New Orleans' secondary.

The issue was his availability. Lattimore dealt with multiple injuries that would keep him out for weeks at a time. This year, a hamstring problem hindered him at different times during the regular season.

Lattimore played in seven games but had to leave two of them early due to injury. Unfortunately, he simply could not stay healthy in what was his final season with New Orleans.

Lattimore remains injured

Sicne being traded to Washington, Lattimore has not suited up for their defense yet due to his hamstring issue. He will not play on Thursday Night Football against the Eagles in Week 11.

The top-flight CB missed a lot of time between 2022 and 2023 as well. The injuries have began to mount for him as he gets older.

Lattimore played in just seventeen games combined between the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 season. Before 2022, the CB was had played in at least thirteen games in every season of his NFL career.

This has been a development from this later portion of his career. Lattimore is still just 28 years old.

If he can find a way to stay healthy going forward for Washington, they will absolutely get their money's worth in terms of his contract and the value they traded away for him. That being said, this has become a haunting trend for the former Saints defender.
