This is the stuff you hate to see at training camp. Detroit Lions' edge rusher John Cominsky got rolled up on at the Meijer Performance Center on Tuesday and had to be carted off the field by trainers. We now know what the prognosis is on that injury.
Cominsky has a torn MCL and will be out indefinitely. There's a chance he could be back for the playoffs, but in terms of the regular season, he's expected to miss all 17 games.

Cominsky has been with the Lions since the 2022 season where he came out of nowhere as a waiver claim and wound up having a big season. The Lions signed him to a new deal after that year and he had some struggles in 2023. This year was supposed to be a big bounce back season for him and now he's going to be sidelined for the year.
In terms of how this affects the roster, the Lions already have one roster spot open. When Cominsky hits injured reserve, they'll have two open. We'll see if they go looking for a replacement.
