Round one of the 2025 NFL Draft is sure to be quite the ride. For the New Orleans Saints, they currently hold the ninth overall selection.
They can go a lot of different directions with that pick, including adding another option to their backfield.
According to Ryan Fowler, New Orleans will have a formal meeting with the widely-regarded top running back prospect in the class.
The following teams have formal meetings scheduled with Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, per source:

Kellen Moore had a gleaming review of current Saints running back Alvin Kamara during his introductory press conference with the team. It did not feel like he wanted to move on from the star RB anytime soon after he had a great 2024 season, albeit on an overall sluggish offense.

"His ability to play in the pass game, in the run game, all the different versatile roles that he can play. A lot of people for a long time have been looking, 'How can we find an Alvin on our football team?' - So that's been a really important piece.
He'll continue to be a really important piece, and we're really fortunate to have him." -- Moore on Kamara
Could New Orleans really take Jeanty in the first round to join Kamara? That would be quite risky.
The Saints have a ton of needs. You can argue that running back is just about last on that list of biggest roster needs during this offseason.
Adding another capable backup for Kamara makes some sense, but investing a top ten pick in another RB, rather than a cornerback or lineman, would certainly be surprising from a team-building standpoint.
Keep in mind - Moore's offense with the Philadelphia Eagles was built on the run game. With Jeanty and Kamara on a roster, there would be no better RB room in all of football.
Regardless, it's clear they have some interest in the former Boise State superstar and Heisman Trophy finalist.
