Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos are looking to make it 10 wins in a row on Sunday as they battle a 2-10 Las Vegas Raiders side in a road game at Allegiant Stadium. The Broncos enter this matchup with a 10-2 record, with their last win coming against the Washington Commanders in Week 13.
That was a tightly contested affair that required an extra period to decide a winner. In the end, the Broncos held on to secure a hard-fought 27-26 win in overtime on "Monday Night Football." Nix finished 29-of-45 passing for 321 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Apart from registering another 300-yard game, Nix was also involved in a contentious incident against the Commanders — one that has prompted a final decision from the NFL.
Nix has been incredible for the Broncos this season. In 12 games played, the 25-year-old quarterback has completed 266 of 432 passes (61.6%) for 2,742 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. There’s no denying the second-year QB has been pivotal to Denver’s success this year.
Nix took a hard hit in the Week 13 win over Washington. Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu drove Nix to the ground with a helmet-to-helmet hit as the latter threw an incomplete pass. The tackle was deemed legal, though, and no flag was thrown on the play.

The NFL Officiating Department reviews every play in every game, and it looked at Luvu’s hard hit on Nix. The league announced its fines from Week 13, and Luvu and the Commanders will be glad to know that he has not been penalized for his tackle.
For context, four players were fined for use of the helmet in Week 13., the most substantial of which was on Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who was fined $46,371 for the use of the helmet on an unnecessary roughness violation.
Luvu has a long history of fines throughout his eight-year career. He has already been fined for a hip-drop tackle thrice this season, with his most recent violation resulting in a $100,000 fine. All in all, the 29-year-old has already amassed $245,242 in fines for eight violations.
Denver visits Las Vegas at 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
