With the NFL Draft two months into the rear view mirror, how the teams stack up against one another has changed. Here is part one of my post draft NFL power rankings going into the 2025 NFL season.
The top team in the league is still the Eagles after winning Super Bowl LIX. They have top players at almost every position and still added one of the top defensive players in the entire draft in linebacker Jihaad Campbell. He will make their defense even stronger and scarier. They also took safety Andrew Mukuba in the second round who can be an impact player in their secondary from day one. All of their firepower on both sides of the wall is what has them at the top of the rankings.
At No. 2 I have the team coming off a defeat in last year's Super Bowl in the Chiefs. If you have a healthy Patrick Mahomes you are going to be near the top of any power rankings. They will be fully loaded again going into next year, getting star receiver Rashee Rice back from injury. They also addressed their biggest need of offensive linemen in the draft, getting Josh Simmons from Oregon to help protect Mahomes.
The Ravens already have a top end roster and then really improved it in the draft, getting two of the best overall defensive pieces in Malaki Starks to firm up their secondary and Mike Green to help their pass rush. They also recently signed Jaire Alexander to their team. A former All-Pro cornerback really makes their secondary one of the best in the league. All of this has the Ravens as the No. 3 team for me going into the next NFL season.
At No. 4, climbing up massively from the start of last season, is the Commanders. They have a top QB in Jayden Daniels. They added top players in the offseason in Deebo Samuel and Javon Kinlaw. They also killed the draft getting a massive position of need in the first round with offensive tackle Josh Conerly and then grabbing one of the most underrated players in the draft in cornerback Trey Amos. With how much they outperformed last year and the real deal QB they have I don’t see a reason why they can’t get back to the NFC championship and maybe even their first Super Bowl in almost 40 years.
Finishing as the No. 1 seed in the NFC last year, the Lions look poised to make a push for the Lombardi Trophy. They have maybe the most all-around complete team in the NFL and added top corner DJ Reed in free agency to help their secondary. They then added two top pieces in the draft for their trenches. Getting defensive linemen Tyleik Williams and offensive linemen Tate Ratledge to help both offensive and defensive lines tremendously push them one step closer to the coveted Lombardi.
Similar to Mahomes, if you have QB Josh Allen you are always going to be near the top of the list. The Bills have weapons all around Allen on offensive and will likely put up a lot of points. They added a top cornerback in the draft, Maxwell Hairston, which will help greatly in shutting down opponent's top wide receivers. His elite speed will help him stay with any wide receiver in the league. Overall, the Bills have the reigning NFL MVP so they will be in contention to be at the top of the rankings by seasons' end.
HEARTWARMING: MUST WATCH

New #Bills 1st round CB Maxwell Hairston spent the entire first round hyping up every player picked and walked by him to head to the stage.
Hairston celebrated everyone like they were his own brother. Special person.

The Rams were the one team that played the eventual Super Bowl champs the closest in the playoffs. They have masterminds at the QB and head coach position in Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, along with many weapons on both sides of the ball. They added two new weapons as well for this potent Rams offense in wide receiver Davante Adams in free agency and tight end Terrance Ferguson via the draft. They are all stocked, built and ready to make another deep postseason playoff push.
At No. 8 in the rankings, I have the first team who did not make the playoffs last year. The Bengals have maybe the best offense in all of the NFL with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. However, they had the worst defense in all of football last season which will be something they need to improve upon. If they can come to deals with first-round rookie Shemar Stewart and All-Pro Trey Hendrickson, the Bengals could have a top pass-rush. If head coach Zac Taylor can figure out the rest of the defense, they will be back in the playoffs for sure in 2025.
After being one of the NFL’s top offenses the last few years led by Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers look to continue that trend this upcoming season. They helped their cause by adding wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the draft to pair with two already great receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They aren’t higher on the list because they didn’t fill as many holes on their team as they should have in the offseason. Their defense needed some work and they didn’t do enough to fix it this offseason which is why I have them at No. 9 and not any higher.
The Packers' glaring weakness last season was not enough weapons for QB Jordan Love . They addressed that this year in the draft getting maybe the best wide receiver prospect in Matthew Golden . He should be able to take this Packer offense to new heights and help Love take the next step in his development. Their defense is very solid outside of cornerback, where they are very thin. They released former Alexander making their cornerback room very small. If they can address this issue before the season starts I can see them making a push for the best team in the NFC.
This is part one of my NFL power rankings a few months removed from the NFL Draft. I feel as though any of these teams with the right coaching and play can easily make a play at the Lombardi Trophy in 2025.
