NFL world reacts to Chiefs signing Patrick Mahomes to 10-year contract

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the team to a Super Bowl ring and might be the face of the NFL’s next dynasty. Now, the Chiefs are rewarding him with a record 10-year contract extension.

Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes have reached agreement on a 10-year — 10-year! — contract extension that ties him to Kansas City through the 2031 season, league sources tell ESPN.

The Chiefs started discussing a contract extension with Mahomes even before Super Bowl LIV. After the 24-year-old quarterback won a ring and was named MVP of the game, it was just a matter of time before he landed a historic extension.

Patrick Mahomes had two years remaining on his contract, and he and the Chiefs are adding on 10 more, making it a a new 12-year contract in total.
